bored so looked at a few stocks trading on the NSE on IB's platform

wtf?

time and sales looks more like the demo price feed. prices all over the place, above , below, nuts.

whats the deal?

Liquidity is higher on the NSE. It is also dependent on the stock which you are currently looking at.
