NQ DOM Impossible to Trade With - Now @10K the Tick Size Has to Change

What!?
Yes you can change artificially with that trick the tick value, but the bid ask depth is not the same. So what the f*ck are you talking about?

Pretty sure the DOM will only display your new tick value. That should make it easier for you trading on the DOM, since the DOM is what you see.

The eminis are fine the way it is. We should be demanding lower commissions on the micros.

I don't understand why 1/10 the size doesn't translate 1/10 the commission of the eminis.
Because its a business like any other. They won't take a hit on profits because something makes logical sense or to make retailers happy.

Your "pretty sure" is "pretty wrong", because it will display less bid ask levels
For example if you set 0.50 as tick value the DOM will display only 5 bid ask levels
The other 5 will be hidden....

You should ask for a "deadeye" feature on your platform. Let us know how it works out

Some tick size to value ratios

YM 1:27000
NQ 1:40000
DAX 1:25000
ES 1:12800

Based on this the NQ tick is the tightest of the lot.

Objectively NQ tick-size should probably be increased to 0.5.

Problem is every time they make changes to a contract spec it has unknown and unintended consequences and also annoys the hell out of many of the existing traders.

OMG, stop WHINING!

Ok, but the problem of the tick value is for real
0.25 with 10k for NQ and 0.25 for ES with 3k makes no sense

Enhancements to 3-Year Treasury Note futures
Effective July 13, 2020
  • Reduced tick size: 1/8 of 1/32 for outrights and spreads
Could be done for NQ.

the problem with the many exchanges are making the tick size smaller and smaller and smaller.

futures with 7 digits :
NQ now at 10052.75

they should change NQ to just 5 digits like 10053

DAX from Eurex exchange has only 5 digits.
dax now at 12530

worst CME futures with 8 digits is
jpy futures now at 0.0093550

There are some trading platforms that allow you to adjust the tick size
to make it coarser.

are there any trading platform that allows you to adjust CME products tick size ?

It could be, but why does it need to be done? Why? Just because it is printing 10,000? Ludicrous.
