Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) rejected that offer, and a Schumer spokesman said Sunday the two remained “very far apart.” The details were first reported by The Washington Post.

So this week old news from December 23rd is somehow meaningful?
 
Pelosi is planning to send Trump funding bills one at a time instead of a package with the goal to isolate homeland security and for it to be negotiated on its own merits.

It’s a solid strategy. Neither Trump nor McConnell can make a good case for not funding other parts of the government and it will actually clear the deck for some meaningful negotiations.

The house under Pelosi can easily pass the Senate’s immigration reform bill that included eVerify with a substantial increase in border security spending.

Don’t underestimate Nancy Pelosi she has made some heavy lifts in the past. Trump isn’t on the same level of actual deal making that she is and he will most likely get rolled over.
 
Well considering this is the exact strategy that people here told the republicans to follow to defund Obamacare... of course it is a good strategy.

The difference is the establishment republicans did not want to defund Obamacare nor do they wish to fund the wall. So it will probably work.

Trump seeks $25 billion for border wall, offers 'Dreamer' citizenship

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump on Wednesday previewed his outline for an immigration bill that he will promote next week, saying he wants $25 billion to build a border wall and is open to granting citizenship to illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.

Trump said he was optimistic he could come to an agreement with both Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. Congress that would appeal to hardliners seeking tougher rules for immigrants while also preventing the roughly 700,000 “Dreamers” from being deported.
