Now Steven Cohen is charged... why ever read another Market Wizard book?

Quote from Butterball:

Jesse Livermore blew up multiple times and blew away his head with a gun. Still read the book about five or so times over the last 15 years and will again.

ROASO is the best book about trading ever written hands down.

Quote from Humpy:

Jesse was a total failure. I mean he blew away fortune after fortune.

Hopeless loser

Thats why its a great fucking book/story. We can learn much from others failures.

Emulate the right and rid the wrong.

Moron. He lived in luxury all in his life since he was 17 or so...

I wanna be such a failure...

P.S.: You can only blow away a fortune if you made it first...

Quote from electron:

This series of books by Schwager, in my opinion, has contributed a lot to this myth of trading geniuses and a bit to the myth of easy money too.

Some of these geniuses are not geniuses any more and most of them can lose money as easily as many other less accomplished traders.

Good points, electron.

These people often have enormous egos. That can keep them going, but sooner or later it will contribute to their failure.

Others are plainly dishonest with themselves or even deranged.

Big Mike is the most prominent recent addition to this group of people. That's the guy who blew gobs of money as a trader and suddenly felt called to spread his trading "wisdom" with the masses.

The word "dishonesty" does not even begin to describe this guy. He lives in an echo chamber surrounded by other losers like him some of whom are also dream peddlers (vendors of questionable repute).

His whole forum is infested with them, but that's the safest company for him. Any other company would force him to face reality.

I agree...he had personal flaws and demons.
