Now IRS Reports EVEN MORE Computer Crashes, Doesn’t Know If Emails Still Exist

IRS Deputy Associate Chief Counsel Thomas Kane said in transcribed congressional testimony that more IRS officials experienced computer crashes, bringing the total number of crash victims to “less than 20,” and also said that the agency does not know if the lost emails are still backed up somewhere.

The new round of computer crash victims includes David Fish, who routinely corresponded with Lois Lerner, as well as Lerner subordinate Andy Megosh, Lerner’s technical adviser Justin Lowe, and Cincinnati-based agent Kimberly Kitchens.

“You stated at the time that document was produced to Congress, the document, the white paper in Exhibit 3[the June 13 memo], that it was accurate to the best of your knowledge. Is it still accurate?,” a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee investigator asked Kane.

“There is an issue as to whether or not there is a ‑‑ that all of the backup recovery tapes were destroyed on the 6‑month retention schedule,” Kane replied.

“So some of those backup tapes may still exist?,” the investigator asked.

“I don’t know whether they are or they aren’t, but it’s an issue that’s being looked at,” Kane said.

this is incredibly crooked but now easily solved.

any prosecutor could threaten these sobs with treason or some other major crime and get this guys to roll over like dominoes... its time for congress to start putting these people in jail... tell them to talk or risk their lives that a Republican president and congress come in... and if thats the case... they will be doing 25 to 30 years...
The threat of 10 years in the big house with bubba or bubbette and a guard... makes any white collar person sweat. no club med... hard time.
I know it would break me down in most circumstances.

When I wan an RIA, I was required to keep "ALL EMAILS from clients and anyone in the industry + regulators"... even the ones from a jokster client which went, "An Irishman and a priest walk into a bar. The Irishman cuts a fart and says... ___________________".

I was required to keep those emails for 5 years. And you want me and the rest of us Americans to accept the notion of "lost emails" of a high-up IRS official? Especially ones which might incriminate government officials, including Odumbo and the White House?

The NSA wasn't snooping in our gov't emails or web habits; only it's citizens and other gov'ts got that scrutiny.

I sincerely hope tax payers en masse hide behind this same excuse for records come tax time. Let them try to prosecute 100's of thousands of cases of tax defiance for conveniently losing personal tax records like they lost emails.
 
Call me paranoid but it does seem awfully coincidental that Lerner, her deputy, some drone in Cincy doing the dirty work for her and a few other choice targets all suffered this unfortunate crash.

I expect the dems explantion will be that it is the republicans fault for not giving the IRS more resources.

The republican should be on cable every night raising cain about this. Instead, most of them are complaining about not going to war with Russia.
