At some point co2 can not keep much more warmth (we are probably there in our atmosphere now) but as the co2 gets thicker it block more and more sun energy from coming in.
Additionally, CO2 probably triggers watervapor (low clouds) which block / reflect the sun energy.

As you add more CO2 (after the initial layer) it probably starts to cool.
