i am trying to figure out how to manage it next time.
1. can i closed the existing short and open a new one. i can live with the commission loss. what are the chances that i can short the stock after i get the notice.

i got a notice like that about my short SPY position last december. naturally i ignored it because it was just crazy.

you mean, i could have just left it alone. what factors should i look for either ignore the warning or act on it.

Will IB locate anything for you? Or is the list is what you have to work with?

How is goldman's clearing?
