Cash App founder Bob Lee's killing in crime-ridden San Francisco neighborhood was at least the TWELFTH murder there this year, police union says
Lee, 43, was stabbed several times in the chest as he walked in the city's Rincon Hill neighborhood at 2:35am, which is located in the Southern District, close to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
Lee was ignored by passersby, who did not help him as he bled out and collapsed to the ground. Video reveals Lee, chief product officer at crypto firm MobileCoin, staggering along Main Street and trying to flag down a passing car at the intersection with Harrison Street.
When the motorist shockingly drives off without helping, Lee stumbles 70 yards back down Main towards the Portside luxury apartment complex - but collapses as he reaches for the door entry system.
Bloodied and dazed, Lee was able to ring cops himself to say he'd been stabbed but couldn't give his precise location. First responders reached the fading tech exec within six minutes but by then it was too late.
'The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts by first responders and medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries,' the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement.
A kitchen knife with a 4-inch blade was found in a parking lot across the street, according to ABC7 News. Cops are yet to make any arrests.
(Not the same San Fran I used to know, sadly)
If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there
For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair
All across the nation such a strange vibration
People in motion
There's a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion people in motion
For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
