Not since FDR has a president done so much to transform a country

I have a neighbor/good friend who retired from Delta as a 14 year Captain in 1995. Poor had to start a snow removal business to just make ends meet.

I have two friends flying at around $350k, I consider that a comfortable living even with a family.

The fact is that SOME Pilots don't make jack shit...
Corrected for accuracy.

The rest, while possibly true, is just more of the uncorroborated bragging we see here daily and therefore of not much consequence.

... (And they don't have many of those jobs available which is why some pilots make 12.50 an hour )
THAT is true.

How does it feel to finally be right about something?
:)

Lets just say their motto is "We'll leave the light on for ya". :D

Even a motel six manager makes more then the 12.50 some pilots make, much more in fact

Tell me your name and airline you fly for and I'll tell you
I'm not asking for your name Gomer. Just your Hotel.

I don't fly for an airline, I fly privately owned jets.
Even if I told you the name of the company it wouldn't really tell you much. It's a LLC created solely for owning the plane. I'm literally the only employee.

I did not make much money as a pilot personally. I got up to metroliners and realized that it was just an expensive hobby and a little dangerous. But some of the younger guys getting into business jets were doing very well, more than just a living. I was too old and just required alot more money than them. :D

Flying for the big airlines all changed on 9/11 and it doesn't look like its going back any time soon. I got my commercial ticket in Aug. 2001. :(

I really just wanted to fly twin-Otters in inter-island scheduled service down in the Caribbean but at some point was unwilling to give up my lifestyle. I still fly but mostly experimentals and some old tailwheel military trainers. We have a T-34 at work that I can use but haven't bothered getting checked out in. It just came back from the polish shop and looks like a mustang but its been placarded for no aero.

My short point is that only the really good young guys get the real high pay in the business jets and only really good old guys get the high pay on the heavies.

I have gotten as personal with you right wing idiots as I'm going to get

Summary.

Lucrum = skilled professional/specialized laborer. Most likely earns btwn 100-200k/pa, with a reasonably secure demand for his labor for the forseeable future.

Period boy = unskilled desk jokey/key puncher/bed sheet changer. Performs tasks which require no special skills or professional accumen. All job duties could reasonably be performed by the average fast food resturaunt assistant manager. Most likely earns between $10-12/hr. He will in all likelyhood either remain at current wages, or be replaced by one of his illegal immigrant "hispanic brothers" for whom he now so strongly advocates, who will perform the same tasks for lower wages.
