IRS under fire: Vote for Obama stickers, campaign cheerleading commonplace

Even as the IRS faces growing heat over Lois G. Lerner and the tea party targeting scandal, a government watchdog said Wednesday it’s pursuing cases against three other tax agency employees and offices suspected of illegal political activity in support of President Obama and fellow Democrats.

In one case the Office of Special Counsel, which investigates federal employees who conduct politics on government time, said it was “commonplace” in a Dallas IRS office for employees to have pro-Obama screensavers on their computers, and to have campaign-style buttons and stickers at their office.

In another case, a worker at the tax agency’s customer help line urged taxpayers “to re-elect President Obama in 2012 by repeatedly reciting a chant based on the spelling of his last name,” the Office of Special Counsel said in a statement.

OSC said it is seeking “significant disciplinary action” against that employee.

Another IRS employee in Kentucky has agreed to serve a 14-day suspension for blasting Republicans in a conversation with a taxpayer.

“They’re going to take women back 40 years,” the IRS employee said in a conversation that was recorded. The employee also said that “if you vote for a Republican, the rich are going to get richer and the poor are going to get poorer.”

That employee went on to tell the taxpayer she knew she wasn’t supposed to be voicing her political opinions, and asked the taxpayer not to say anything.

In the Dallas situation, the OSC issued a letter to employees reminding them they aren’t allowed to do anything that would appear to be campaigning.

“Specifically, it was alleged that employees have worn partisan political stickers, buttons, and clothing to work and have displayed partisan political screensavers on their IRS computers. It was alleged that these items expressed support for President Barack Obama,” the OSC said.

The IRS didn’t respond to a request for comment.

The federal Hatch Act prohibits most government employees from conducting politics on government time. OSC is charged with looking into those violations.

No worries. Justice will come in November. I don't believe the dems can bus in enough voting sheep, and dead people to save their sorry asses this time.

Sadly, I'm not so sure they can't.

Well, you may be right. I can only imagine how many dead people will be voting, and just how much of OUR MONEY will be spent bussing in sheep.
The nazicrats will have their work cut out for them, as I'm hearing from middle of the road types who usually don't vote (the idiots!), they're angry, and are voting anything but dem in November.

Revealed In Today's Hearing: Lois Lerner Wanted Job With OFA, Aggressively Went After Crossroads GPS

In response to House Ways and Means Committee Votes to Refer Lois Lerner for Criminal Prosecution:
Two new revelations came out of this morning's closed door Ways and Means committee mark-up to refer ex-IRS official Lois Lerner to the DOJ for criminal prosecution.
It was revealed that she had talked about taking a job with the president’s nonprofit tax exempt group Organizing for Action (OFA) while she had official oversight at the IRS over nonprofit tax-exempt groups.
More damning evidence was produced by the the Republican-led panel revealing that Lerner broke IRS rules by "aggressively urging the agency to deny tax-exempt status to Karl Rove's political nonprofit, Crossroads GPS, as well as several other conservative groups as recently as January 2013." The IRS scandal broke in May of 2013.
The committee letter calls her actions “an aggressive and improper pursuit of Crossroads by Lerner, but no evidence she directed review of similarly situated left-leaning groups.”
The Politico reported:
IRS rules prohibit one single person from influencing the application and auditing process, but House Republicans say she was the reason these groups were singled out.
Democrats cried foul play, accusing Ways and Means Committee chairman Dave Camp (R-Mich.) of playing politics to feed the Republican base ahead of the 2014 mid-term elections.
Democrats are not helping themselves by circling the wagons.
A Fox News poll in February showed that 64% of the American people believe the targeting scandal suggests that the IRS is corrupt.

It appears that the enhanced IRS examinations of rightist groups trying for tax-exempt status is justified.

Darrell Issa Hearing Reveals IRS-Targeted Groups Prefer To Be Political
Posted: 03/27/2014 5:22 pm EDT Updated: 03/27/2014 6:59 pm EDT

"WASHINGTON -- Rep. Darrell Issa's latest oversight hearing into the Internal Revenue Service's botched enforcement against tea party and other "social welfare" groups has revealed a dirty little secret: Many of those groups actually want to preserve the option to run as "dark money" political operations.

"That revelation came primarily from the prepared testimony of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, who spent much of his time Wednesday before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee sparring with Republican lawmakers over the pace of releasing documents.

"But Koskinen also explained that the IRS had implemented all nine recommendations of the inspector general's report that first flagged the so-called targeting scandal. One of those recommendations was to clear up an unacceptable backlog in processing applications for tax-exempt status from groups that had been waiting months.

"There was a simple way to clear that logjam: All any group had to do to be granted tax-exempt status as a social welfare nonprofit under section 501(c)4 of the U.S. tax code was to swear that it was, in fact, primarily engaged in social welfare work. To make it easy, the IRS decided that groups had to pledge they would confine their political activity to less than 40 percent of their work.

"Several dozen did so, but 19 declined, Koskinen said."

Fuck em! The nazicrats are screwed in November, and damned deservingly so! Of course, that is if 25M dead folks don't show up at the polls!

Now that there is documented proof that Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings was in collusion with the IRS in its targeting of the Tea Party, specifically True the Vote based in Houston, the group’s founder demands justice and that Cummings stop lying to the American people.

Catherine Engelbrecht’s group was but one of Tea Party groups who were targeted, harassed, threatened and intimidated by the IRS, conveniently as the grassroots were working to make changes within government in the 2012 elections. Because of the Tea Party movement, the GOP took back the House in the 2010 mid-term. With Barack Obama’s re-election in the balance, and a desire by the Democrats to hold onto power in the Senate, a new scandal was born. The IRS was used as a weapon to target those deemed to be Obama’s political enemies.

Rep. Cummings has worked tirelessly to obstruct justice during the investigation thereby impeding the ability to learn the truth about the events that occurred. He has denied profusely any communication with Lois Lerner or the IRS going so far as to accuse GOP committee chair Darrell Issa of a witch hunt. The left, including Obama himself, have denied any politically based wrongdoing. They have continued this claim of deniability despite evidence to the contrary that has surface. Now, there is email proof that Democrats on the House Oversight Committee were in collusion with the IRS. Cummings himself was the lead one, specifically targeting True the Vote on numerous occasions.
