Not a crypto post

Just an observation for Good1 , stating the obvious Bitcoins domination was for a long time 100%,it could become ubiquitous like the U.s. dollar or slightly more likely in my opinion slowly lose it's domination.

@garachen ,

Have you spread the funds across all exchanges? Or are you primarily long bitcoin and move that to different exchanges (which is moved more quickly than USD I assume).

Also, what's your take on the cost... generally it's 0.25% for maker and 0.75%+ for taker... that's quite a lot... if you want to go in and out on very short term supply/demand you need to cover at least 40 to break even.... I had a look at bitmex for a few days, that seems to be cheaper.
Or, you don't really care as you hold a bit longer and go for bigger moves?

CME futures are going to have a b/a-spread of 5, not sure about the transaction costs but I assume that's not going to be very different from a normal equity future I think. So futures will be far less costly.

Lots of questions. I'll focus on the last one. BA is $5 but initially I doubt they will be quoted that tightly. I'd be afraid to.

For most people the CME fees will be way better than the cash exchanges.

Do instances like gdax going down during high vol throw a wrench in your operations or create opportunity? Just went down the other day. Also noticed $1000 difference between Gdax/Bitfinex price around that time.

What do you think is the annual pnl potential of cryptos for someone with a 200k account? Many exchanges already allow lending out your cash/bitcoins for over 50% annualized return for almost no work involved. The bar is set high.

Which ones? I've looked at this and can't find anything above 25% net on average. would love to hear where i can do better.

I just want to make clear, almost all ICOs are scams. Reading the source code should be the first step in a vetting process.

I think your numbers a bit high - I look at this space a lot. I would say less than half are outright scams. However, there is a LOT of high hopes that cannot be realized by the teams involved - so not scams, but will still fail.

More to the point - can you offer tips for trading cryptos? I'm doing well enough, but mainly just riding the up train.
Would love some insight from a pro, since I can't find any way to apply TA that's worth a damn.
thanks.

The purpose of the title was to signal that I meant for non-crypto people to see and discuss the thread. Moving the thread undermines my intention.

This will be my last post - I'm tired of the self absorbed bickering. Anyone who wants to contact me in the future, PM me your details this week. And the end of the week I'm going to randomize my password and won't be able to retrieve messages anymore after that.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insight. Wish you the best.

You are right. I left because nobody seems to ever progress and people can't even agree on trading terminology basics. All threads eventually devolve into the same tired rants and namecalling sessions that have been worked over hundreds of times. None of the vocabulary or demeanor represents anything actually found in the industry. No work gets done. No collaboration happens. I guess I keep hoping that this forum will become something that it's not anymore.

I'll respond for a few more days then check back in a year.

Any forum you frequent with more knowledge in crypto trading? Unfortunately I haven't found much of value in this market on ET. seems most knowledge comes from Bitcoin talk, but don't know how active their trading section is.
