Time for a fact sheet...

Despite many claims to the contrary, the 1970â²s global cooling fears were widespread among many scientists and in the media. Despite the fact that there was no UN IPCC organization created to promote global cooling in the 1970s and despite the fact that there was nowhere near the tens of billions of dollars in funding spent today to promote man-made global warming, fears of a coming ice age, showed up in peer-reviewed literature, at scientific conferences, voiced by prominent scientists and throughout the media.
A couple of examples:
National Academy of Sciences Issued Report Warning of Coming Ice Age in 1975
Excerpt: âA major climatic change would force economic and social adjustments on a worldwide scale,â warns a recent report by the National Academy of Sciences, âbecause the global patterns of food production and population that have evolved are implicitly dependent on the climate of the present century.â â Newsweek â April 28, 1975 âThe Cooling World
NASA warned of human caused coming âice ageâ in 1971 â Washington Times â September 19, 2007
Excerpt: âThe world âcould be as little as 50 or 60 years away from a disastrous new ice age, a leading atmospheric scientist predicts,â read a July 9, 1971 Washington Post article. NASA scientist S.I. Rasool, a colleague of James Hansen, made the predictions. The 1971 article continues: âIn the next 50 yearsâ â or by 2021 â fossil-fuel dust injected by man into the atmosphere âcould screen out so much sunlight that the average temperature could drop by six degrees,â resulting in a buildup of ânew glaciers that could eventually cover huge areas.â If sustained over âseveral years, five to 10,â or so Mr. Rasool estimated, âsuch a temperature decrease could be sufficient to trigger an ice age.

So much for your denial that there was no 'global cooling' scare in the 1970s driven by scientists and the media. No different than it is today with 'global warming'.
