Norton 360 installs a crypto miner by default, that is always on

There is quite a few anti-virus s/w that are of questionable quality.

Microsoft should be questioning themselves why are there still
anti-virus s/w operating in Windows O/S.

When I use to have John Mcafees anti virus on my computer, it would work great when it was first installed. But the minute the subscription was up, a few viruses would immediately download on the computer out of no where. How do you explain that?

The same people who make anti virus software are the same people who make the viruses....

Sound like anything else going on today?
 
I just did an install on my computers, and it was not on by default. I would have to opt in for it to start using my computers. Not sure why yours is on by default.
 
It's like those apps, music players, that will not allow you to have a shortcut on the lock screen (to change the song), because they want you to go inside the app in order to see an add.

P.s. mining could be compared to running a video game. It burdens your pc/laptop. I doubt that RRR is worth it, especially if that is your main pc/laptop for work/trading.

At least that is good to hear. I am not using any 3rd party antivirus, I just quoted the news, what was apparently partially wrong.

So why would anyone turn it on, unless you get that 85%???
 
Didnt know they could even do that, mining is so power intensive too would be interesting to see if it damages computers if Norton are about to answer
