North Carolina First to Toughen Voting Laws After Ruling

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

This is hte kind of issue the republicans should be pushing constantly. Ordinary low information voters know they have to have valid ID to do all sorts of things. Is voting less important than buying a beer?

What you said here is of very fundamental importance.
Low information voters, on all sides, is a big part of what is wrong in the USA.
With the current state in the USA, no informed person would dare vote for a democrat or a republican.

Piggy I'm not against photo voter ID, I never said I was. BUT the only reason the reps are doing this to try to win elections, they don't give a shit about voting rights unless it improves their odds. That is why they always add other provisions that more minorities use than the rep voters. And no the same argument can't be used against the dems, the reps are wanting to restrict access to voting, plain and simple. If a citizen is a lemming and wants to vote then there are plenty of examples of republican and democrat lemming already voting, so let em vote.

Yea man, they (reps) are trying to restrict voting access to American citizens ONLY, the legal and common sense way it should be. And yes the same argument CAN be used against the dems, they don't want voter id laws because they think it will hurt their chances. What does that say about them?

You're doing the talking point shit Piggy, that's the sign of a walk the line republican party man.

You say: the reps ONLY want voter id laws to help their chances.

I say: the dems DON'T want voter id laws cause it will hurt their chances.

two sides, same argument. get it? So if I'm using talking points, you are as well.

the real point was, there is no logical argument against providing proof of citizenship to vote in our elections.

oh and you take the dem side of nearly every argument, while i find myself increasingly at odds with the republican party.

Ok shit for brains back up all your hot air and show us the facts that there was voter fraud in NC with university ID's. There should be some court records to back up your argument. And what about the other provisions in the law? You're a nitwit lucrum.
I'm talking about democrat voter fraud in general moron. Do try to keep up.

Piggy once again I'm not against photo ID to vote, I don't see anything wrong with that. I would take the reps motivation as being sincere if that is all they did, but they always add in voter restrictions too, that have nothing to do with ID's. I don't know how you can't see how blatant they are and when you consider the times they've been caught breaking the law, well you get the picture.

bigzero got you convinced yet? :D

I've never seen anyone so utterly desperate to get others to agree with him.

I'm not either. To be fair, I'd make a trade, more careful ID verification in exchange for lengthened voting hours.

Somebody tell me where the constitution of the USA says that every individual has the right to vote for the president, whether you show an id card or whether you don't show an id card.

First of all YOU are the one who is making this about politics. I simply said that voter id laws make sense and are the right and legal thing to do, i don't care who is pushing them or why.

Second, what are these blatant crimes you accuse the reps of? And you keep saying you are not against voter id laws but then arguing that these other restrictions which already exist are somehow unfair. And they do already exist, last election my brother went to register like 2-3 days before, and they told him it was too late. He told them that was bullshit and they said he would only be able to vote for Pres. Well on election day he had the whole ticket but we live in a super lib state, and they still said it was too late to register. Now he's white and she was black, i wonder what she would have said if he was black or a registered dem?
