North Carolina First to Toughen Voting Laws After Ruling

Quote from Navin Johnson:

There is no legitimate argument against requiring a photo ID to vote. If democrats really think voters will be disenfranchised, then they should help get these people a proper photo ID.

BINGO!

Quote from PiggyBank:

Many universities have foreign students attending who are not American citizens and have no right to vote. Why is it a big deal to prove you're a citizen?

Piggy the ONLY reason the reps are doing this is becase they think this will be fewer votes for the dems. There is no deeper meaning than that, it's just making laws trying to win elections. Just like gerrymandering has no other purpose than to skew the vote in favor of the party in charge of defining the maps. Don't trust the politicians politicians piggy.

This is hte kind of issue the republicans should be pushing constantly. Ordinary low information voters know they have to have valid ID to do all sorts of things. Is voting less important than buying a beer?

lol I don't trust politicians but in this case it really doesn't matter why they are doing it, it is the right thing to do. It's a FACT that we have millions of illegals and non citizens living here and they don't have the right to vote, they don't have any say at all. So in order to protect OUR rights we need to make sure voters are in fact American citizens. Like Navin said there is no argument against this.

WRONG pecker breath. It's to stop voter fraud. The ONLY reason democraps oppose voter ID is so they can continue to cheat.

Also from the article***"The measure also shortens the early-voting period before Election Day, ends same-day registration "*** I'm sure the reps statisticians came up with these thinking that would also cut down on votes for the dems.
In your opinion is this also the "right thing to do" or is it only right because it may reduce votes for the dems?

+1

Polls have shown 75% - 80% support for voter ID laws.

Ok shit for brains back up all your hot air and show us the facts that there was voter fraud in NC with university ID's. There should be some court records to back up your argument. And what about the other provisions in the law? You're a nitwit lucrum.

IMO that is unimportant but i don't necessarily think it's the right thing to do. I can't see any reason why early voting is a problem, but same day registration might be if they don't have time to check your status, or to see if you have already voted. i don't know.

The same argument you are trying to make can be used against dems. They only want the same day registration so they can bring bus loads of lemmings to overwhelm the polls on election day and vote for their guy.

Piggy I'm not against photo voter ID, I never said I was. BUT the only reason the reps are doing this to try to win elections, they don't give a shit about voting rights unless it improves their odds. That is why they always add other provisions that more minorities use than the rep voters. And no the same argument can't be used against the dems, the reps are wanting to restrict access to voting, plain and simple. If a citizen is a lemming and wants to vote then there are plenty of examples of republican and democrat lemming already voting, so let em vote.
