Nordpool

Be cautious about nordpool trading, there has been some speculation that local energy producers manipulate prices. For example well placed "unexpected" plant/grid maintenance can cause havoc.

A norwegian guy, Erik Aas, 32 years has the following
audited results in his onemancompany:

2004 18 million Usd.
2003 18 million Usd
2002 10 million Usd

He has earned the money by trading futures
on electrical power via Nord Pool, an exchange
for trading electrical power.
He refuses to give any comments to the press

Don't you think you should compete when super normal profits are being earned or does he have inside information?

I don't have any data of Erik's trades and as such it is impossible to even suspect of foul play. However, Nordpool is very unique, perhaps a bit underdeveloped, market and it is possible to earn good profits without inside information.

Btw, it seems that cold front is migrating (again) from siberia to Nordpool area. Could be good time to get some electricity calls.
