Noncompliance Kneecaps New Zealand's Gun Control Scheme

Id love to have an M4 with a grenade launcher attached,so would many gun owners.I don't own one because of the jail time I would be doing if caught with one.I think that would work with any weapon.
Believe it or not, automatic weapons and grenade launchers are actually legal to own in most places as long as the weapon is registered and the owner has passed the necessary background checks. The reason you rarely see them used in crimes is because they are expensive and there aren't that many in existence.

AR 15s and AKs can be converted for a fraction of the price but people still dont fuck with them.

Penalties for non compliance aren't strong enough.Make illegal possession a 10 year prison sentence and they'll line up to turn in banned firearms. That would succeed in The US as well thats why virtually no one has illegal full auto weapens or grenade launchers etc.

Why not make it the death penalty?

You people are nuts.

The penalties for possession plays a large part in that imo.

I can get modified semi auto to full auto weapons but I wont touch those eitheir.

You can get them illegally, sure. But you can't get them legally.

And if you pass all the laws in the world, you'll still be able to get them illegally. Changes nothing.

And because the checks you need to go through are far more extensive and costly.

You can make the exact same argument for illegal immigration. The benefits of crossing our border illegally far outweigh the penalty of getting caught. A harsh penalty can greatly reduce just about any illegal act. But at the same time, we have the highest incarceration rate in the world. The last thing we we need to do is increase it by handing out long prison sentences for non-violent crimes.

One thing is clear. The more guns out there, the less feasible any sort of Kamala Harris confiscation scheme is going to be. Patriotic Americans need to be taking advantage of one of the best periods in our recent history to stock up on guns and ammo, particularly the sort likely to be banned, eg AR's, high cap mags, etc.

You can buy reliable AR 15's for under $500, there are plenty of deals around to get 30 round AR mags for next to nothing when you buy ammo, and high quality semi-auto pistols are available for under $500, with many costing a lot less if you look around.

This is next level crazy.

Right. The death penalty is a deterrent is one of the biggest misconceptions in people’s view of the justice system. The death penalty does not deter murder. States with the death penalty often have higher murder rates than states without it.

Not apples to apples imo.Murder in most cases is an emotional crime. Most people aren't willing to do 10 years to own a certain gun.
