I hefted up my skirt, grabbed my balls and said “WTF, mate, I can do this!" ......

Ammo: Short 1091, add 1094, add 1096, add 1102, add 1104, add 1108, add 1110…” He eventually exits at a profit on what’s probably a 1000-car position.

Flatron (Mr. Long) around the Thanksgiving panic selling: “Long 1096, add 1094, add 1091, add 1084…”
He eventually exits at a profit, but price dropped to 1067 before recovering and I realized that he must use at least a 50 point stop, or possibly no stop at all, figuring the worst case scenario is 0000.25.
:D

LOL.. hmmmm.. either a man wearing a skirt or a woman with balls...:D I tell you.. once you taste the Futures speed of taking or giving you get hooked... I am on futures "detox" and stocks are sooooo sloooow.. Your first day of take it and run the best in my opinion.. profit and leave, especially in the current I don't know what to call it action..

The small stops will drive you crazy so bigger stops make sense but better have your trade location right. Small stops sometimes have an insidious effect of encouraging careless trades knowing your risk is soooo small. Big stop and you know the pain due is huge so you think better or... you freeze.

Medium stop the best then?

As for my "pain", after months of “every strategy under the sun” in sim, I hefted up my skirt, grabbed my balls and said “WTF, mate, I can do this!" My stop was 5 pts because I figured each breakout through R has been no more than 3 pts and that would take us to 1118.00 and provide me a couple ticks of wiggle room.

:D

LOL

I truly regret not doubling down @ 1116.50 but I simply stared at my screen and thought, “Sh*t, could this thing top 20???” (Isn't that the best short signal of all, when you're actually scared to short?). I guess I needed brass balls for that move, like Ammo and Flatron who, I will reiterate, have had an influence on me for better or for worse:

Hmm, interesting, coming from you. A day or so ago there was a discussion about averaging in, and I got the impression you had concluded "all in" was best for you. (???) Anyway, no matter.

By the way I noticed your trade today was basically a fade of the ORB trade .... hope you weren't fading bighog! :D

Hey Rashid, I'm subscribed to your new journal and all the best trading to you!

After many simulated battles I've come to the conclusion that I will patiently wait for my best entries and use a wider stop. If I'm putzing around in the doldrums, I'll trade small and use a tight stop.

It works well that way for me with stocks, too. That's my comfort zone!

(As for my balls, well, I discovered I had at least one this morning, haha!)

OK, I put on my first ES swing trade, 1 car short @ 1109.00, stop now @ 1107.50, but man am I itching to just take this $350.....

Stop looking at the money!:D

Such a clean TL break on NQ... Much messier on ES... One could build a trading strategy on this but the wait for it to build is intolerable.. The points come out of nowhere when least expected..

I couldn't do it! I just couldn't! This freakin' market's been buying up every dip at higher and higher lows and I HAD TO TAKE PROFITS!

I covered @ 1099.50 (at the 20 EMA on the daily chart and a deep channel line overshoot on the 5-min intraday chart) for +$470.20, 960.60 on the day.
