Well just have to wait until auntie gets gang raped in prison over a parking violation and the state gets sued into bankruptcy over such asinine "law".
Why would Auntie get preferential legal status over other prisoners?
Wouldn't this be more incentive to not break the law and if you do, pay the man!
Nope, equal protection under the law is a right, if poor people can't get that because they can't pay the court fee from risk of going to jail, that cost should be deferred.
Let me ask what is the solution to court fees for low income people who cannot afford the fees immediately. It costs more to lock them in jail than the cost of the fees.
Wouldn't it be better to put them on a 6 month or 12 month payment plan (with some minor interest) and only put them in jail if they miss payments for their traffic ticket or minor fine?

When I was a teen I did community service at a good will store to avoid paying a speeding ticket.
I don't know exactly how he does it but over the past 15 years I just pay my lawyer 100- 150 and every time he has gotten all of my traffic tickets thrown out.

Maybe but you know very well when they inevitably don't pay, you will be looking for more reasons to cut them slack. How do they have money to put gas in their car if they can't afford a small fine? How do they afford cable TV? You know they can find money for that. I don't want to be harsh but there comes a point where if people expect to be totally looked after, like farm animals, they should lose the right to vote and other civic privileges. How about that? You don't want to pay a small fine, you lose the right to vote.
Your initial points are amusing in that a female judge in Wake County recently denied a female defendant any type of waiver citing in court that the defendant was wearing high-end clothing and was texting on a new iPhone 8 (which pissed off the judge due to the texting rather than the phone).
I agree with the concept that if you fail to pay a fine then you should lose your right to vote. In order to be allowed the privilege of voting you should demonstrate civic responsibility IMO.
Traffic tickets are usually 200 bucks or more,poor people often put 5.00 of gas in their car at a time.A lot of poor people don't have cable TV,even middle class people are dropping it in huge numbers.
