No intelligent person expects that their lives will get better under Obama

Quote from PiggyBank:

1) 800,000 jobs were lost all of ONE month.. please stop repeating this obvious lie.

2) the 35 months of job 'creation' haven't even kept up with pop growth, which is why the participation rate is STILL lower than when obama
Actually, there are other big demographic changes underway, which have nothing to do with Obama.

Quote from denner:

Labor force participation rates tell the real picture...Of course, one particiularly brain dead liberal around here (hint: he is in Canada), continued with the propoganda about the participation rate declining due to boomer retirees. In fact, it's just the opposite, almost all of the recent job growth (as anemic as it is) has been going to the boomer demographic AT THE EXPENSE of the recent college grads. (i.e. ZIRP and equity/housing losses forced them back).

The stock market reflation is the oldest trick in the book. It's laughable that we are on our third iteration of this in the past 12-15 years and we've got a first rate idiot such as Iceman buying into it hook, line and sinker. ZIRP and the incessant "extraordinary" measures to herd everyone back into risk assets HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ECONOMY!!!!, it's about excessive liquidity pumping and collusion to drive asset prices to all time highs and fuel the sheeple into more debt laden consumerism.

If people would stop with this bullshit left vs right, then maybe we could make some progress, but that seems utterly hopeless at this point.

At any rate, the quality of those jobs is pretty damn questionable to say the least. It's nothing more than politics. Who else remembers all the census hiring as some sort of circle jerk by the media and D.C. a few years back?

lol, well I'd like to see you two hash it out as far as the boomers go. I'm lacking the ambition to look into it at the moment. So Ricter do you have evidence to back up your claim? What denner wrote does make sense intuitively.

I agree on the stock market, we are still operating under the same emergency-like policies from the '08 collapse. geez. There is basically no where else for the avg American to achieve worthwhile returns, especially with inflation concerns, both real and anticipated.

And yeah I remember that census job bullshit, part time work. govt jobs are not economically beneficial anyway.

There are always demographic changes happening. For instance, the baby boomers are downsizing their homes which will keep housing prices from exploding again for a while.

So, which demographic changes are YOU talking about? The browning of America? Or are you just talking in mystery like RCG does?

That some boomers are staying in the labor market, or even that some are returning, does not necessarily mean that on net there are not more boomers leaving it.

how can any rational person claim that with a federal deficit of 6-10% and 2-3% GDP growth this is a good economy?

do you dumbass Obama apologists even give a damn?

Agreed. The deficit is too low, considering the recession and interest rates.

If your multiplier theory were true, the GDP growth would be >6% by now. Failed model, religiously clung to.
