This is discounting the fact that their interventions prevented the worst case.
While I agree we can't continue to forever like this, and I definitely think this is a statist power grab (especially with vaccine cards being talked about), I don't believe the epidemiologists are wrong at all.
Your logic is the same as the follows: "wow I should've bought the market skyrocketed!" after 3 months of 5% market drops. It makes no sense. Stop thinking this way. It smoothbrained.

They went to worst case, everyone that gets it, needs hospital treatment, failed to allow any evidence of people getting it mildly or no symptoms at all, and therefore not counting on the figures to come up with 4%-6% death rates.
Then they've got it being treated like a plague, most of us have it, but you can't visit relatives that have it, all the massive restrictions.
They don't want Sweden left alone, because where there outcome is exactly the same which so far it is as the countrys with lockdowns, they'll have to admit to screwing up the world over something 1/100th of what they claim.

21,000 tested positive, actually got is likely already 10Mil+, it only affects very few, which means it burns out quickly, the rest go un noticed, this is exactly how CDC / WHO screwed it up.
NHS front line immune testing is coming up as everyones had the thing, most had no clue.
