Am I in an alternate world? The market looks thrilled. And the links I see say "House Republicans Fold"

House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor pledged to New Jersey and New York lawmakers that the House will pass a $60 billion aid package for Hurricane Sandy victims after scrapping a vote last night...
The decision to allow a vote followed a chorus of criticism from Northeastern lawmakers and Governors Chris Christie of New Jersey and Andrew Cuomo of New York. Christie called his fellow Republicans in Congress âknow-nothingsâ and specifically blamed Boehner for the delay.
âWhat I watched last night was disappointing and disgusting to watch,â Christie said today at a news briefing in Trenton. âWe have been waiting six times longer than the victims of Katrina, and thereâs no end in sight. New Jersey and New Yorkers are tired of being treated like second-class citizens. We deserve better, and America deserves better.â
Within 10 days of Hurricane Katrinaâs striking New Orleans and the Gulf Coast in 2005 and causing the worst natural disaster in U.S. history, Congress approved a $51.8 billion relief package.

We up here in the Northeast always did know you Tea Party fucks were a bunch of provincials with no clue how a country is put together and stays together, but lemme tell you numbnuts, it'll be a very very long time before we forget what happened with the Sandy aid:
Sandy Aid Vote Delay Draws Northeastern Lawmakersâ Ire:
Everyone knows the reason the vote didn't take place is that Boehner didn't want to present a spending bill right after the fiscal cliff vote. Of course the next question is why did it take so long for a bill to make it out of the House in the first place when the Katrina aid was voted on in 10 days. Up here we know it's because you semi-literate provincial reactionaries hate New York.
