76% over the last 8 months. This is all while making so many careless (expensive) mistakes and trying to learn new strategies as I go. I would consider myself a day trader. Next 12 months will almost certainly be better.

That's pretty funny that you did not grasp his sarcasm. AI completely replacing human programmers is still pretty far off because there's often a creative component to it.
For trading, yes, you're probably right.
I figure it's the Asian gambling mentality that you see quite often. Like with most business, there seems to be more value in participating or playing the game rather than earning profits. You see this with Chinese who often earn a negligible profit margin on their products and services but are excited to do it. They are not wrong as this is exactly the right mindset, quite often.
