The Communist Control Act (68 Stat. 775, 50 U.S.C. 841-844) is a piece of United States federal legislation, signed into law by President Dwight Eisenhower on 24 August 1954, which outlaws the Communist Party of the United States and criminalizes membership in, or support for the Party or "Communist-action" organizations and defines evidence to be considered by a jury in determining participation in the activities, planning, actions, objectives, or purposes of such organizations.[1]

If you bother to read further on:

In 1973 a federal district court in Arizona decided that the act was unconstitutional and Arizona could not keep the party off the ballot in the 1972 general election (Blawis v. Bolin). In 1961 the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the act did not bar the party from participating in New York's unemployment insurance system (Communist Party v. Catherwood)

However, the Supreme Court of the United States has not ruled on the act's constitutionality. Despite that, no administration has tried to enforce it. The provisions of the act "outlawing" the party have not been repealed. Nevertheless, the Communist Party of the USA continues to exist in the 21st century.

Sooo The Communist Party is not effectively banned and banning Islam "on the same grounds" is pure nonsense.

Do you think Islam is compatible with universal human rights?

You do, we don't. Freedom of expression is a core constitutional value here. Unless of course it annoys some PC-protected group, then you lose your job and are followed around by internet lynch mobs.

We did ban the communist party. I have argued we could ban islam on the same grounds. It is a political philosophy that is utterly incompatible with our Constitutional rights. When Dr. Ben Carson suggested the same thing, the media's collective heads exploded.

Banning the communist party was an abortive attempt that was found unconstitutional so:

banning Islam "on the same grounds" is pure nonsense.

All I know is that in the 1980s I could not get a government position unless I signed papers stating I was not a communist. Similarly I could not serve in any local government position including our town's Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee unless I affirmed I was not a communist.

Some of the ladies down here on south beach should be forced to wear a burkini :D. Instead of the dental floss they are wearing while weighing 350 pounds.
