NJ toll worker makes over 300k

Quote from PocketChange:

I believe the original Illinois toll roads were to be enacted for 4 years to pay for the construction cost and maintenance.

These toll roads are being privatized in sweetheart deals.. much like the Chicago parking meters. These private hands have political connections and effectively a license to steal.

They are also largely tied to the big banks, i.e. Morgan Stanley was the lead on the parking meters deal. It's one gigantic circle jerk...the taxpayer funds his own enslavement.

Back in the 80's when I was in college, I went home with a friend for a weekend. On the way to his house, he said we needed to stop at his dads work for him to pick up something. I asked him where his dad works, he told me his dad worked in one of those little toll booths. I said, really. He looks at me and said, don't laugh. I replied, that job can't pay much. He said, my dad makes a ton of money. Much much more than anyone would think.

In the next decade or two, toll booth jobs will be non existent, maybe even sooner.

There isn't any need for them as everyone uses those electronic passes.

I guess they will take advantage of the system as long as they can.

Greed is good.

Friedman said it himself.
