Is there a way to transfer the trading history from NT 6.5 to NT 7? And is there some way to input the historical trading history other than the local version on your hard drive? Thanks.

I have an i7 970 chip and it uses all of cores, abit only about at 40-50% capacity. I think the biggest element of the NT software is that it appears to have a RAM memory limit in order to accomidate the greatest number of machines out there. I was never able to get the software to utilize more than about 2MB of RAM which is 1/12th of what I have on the motherborad. It still ran fairly well dispite this, but I bet I could better utilize the cores and the SSD hard drive with more RAM allocation. Perhpas Ray could expand on this a bit.

32-bit windows limit application memory allocation the reason you run into a application memory limitation although you have more available system memory. 64-bit does not have this limitation.

Just to clarify, NT7 does in fact utilize multi-core processors in 32 bit windows, Say XP Pro sp3...... However the supported RAM remains limited to 4Gb.

NT 7 continues to utilize multi-core processors with 64 bit windows 7 in the virtual (if my "old" multi-core processor supports virtualization technology) XP mode (32 bit) ......... However the supported RAM remains limited to 4Gb.

Lastly, to benefit and enjoy all the enhancements/improvements on NinjaTrader 7 multi-core processing and more available system memory (>4 Gb) NT 7 has to be running in a 64-bit application.

Again, just to clarify :)

Also, as previously mentioned, the ZenFire feed for NT 7 64-bit isn't supported, in case that is an issue for you.

Yes, NT7 uses multiple cores where applicable in both 32 and 64 bit environents. Max application RAM allocation in 32-bit I believe is around 1.5GB not 4GB. In 64-bit, this limitation does not exist.

What it remains a mystery is the fact on i7 860 OCed @ 4.0 Ghz - 4 Gb RAM under XP Pro x64 with just 2 tick charts, 2 minute charts, 4/5 symbols overall and a couple of volume indicators, even if Ninjatrader.exe is using 300/400 Mb RAM and 25/30% of CPU cycles over 4/8 cores, no T&S windows, and no compiling errors under Log, well, it's not unusual to still see 'not responding' during fast mkts either running the 32 bit or 64 bit version: plenty of free CPU cycles, plenty of RAM, 10K HD, 32/64 bit feed and still bottlenecks...obviously NT tech support reply is: "switch to true option those calculate on bar closes!"... and read that how to optimize tips page. :mad:
