Hey we were all newbies at first. I've never used Meta Trader 4 and I just started using NinjaTrader a few months ago. So far it seems okay. One thing I don't like is there is no historical data from the feed I get called ZenFire. I can just view 60 minute bars. The historical feed is available through eSignal I believe but that costs $95 a month if you subscribe for the year. I used to use it. I'm working on creating a setup I like. You can test NinjaTrader through Mirus Futures and AMP Futures. Just apply for an account or maybe you don't even need to do that. Good luck.Quote from athena43:
I'm sorry if I'm acting like a newbie, since I am indeed a newbie lol.
But can you guys recommend to newbies like me the Ninja Trader software?
Currently I am using Private Scandinavian Sparkasse's Demo Account with Meta Trader 4. Should I stick with the MT4 demo or try out Ninja Trader?
Many thanks.
It is definitely possible to get historical data from Zen-Fire. I'm not sure the specifics, but they have tick, minute, and daily bars.Quote from BCE:

Had the same problem.
Open the data series. There is an end date. It did not get updated for you. I have 4 charts open (ES, CL, YM, 6E). Two of them updated, two of them got stuck with friday.
Changing the end date to current date worked.
Thanks very much for alerting me to that. I'll check with them and see what I can do.Quote from auspiv:

There has always been enough data for pretty much anything except for long-term backtesting. They also now have a continuous contract which is pretty handy.
The guys over at the Ninjatrader support forum are usually pretty helpful if you need help getting anything set up..
