Hi everyone,

Recently got an account with NinjaTrader, time to learn NT 8 in depth. They have a good guide and quick support on their forums. Aside from that, what are some things that you wish you had known when you first started using NT 7 or 8?

Tips/tricks/advice are all welcome!
 
Mainly using NT7 as research platform as I need flexibility that such platforms don't offer. It helps as a visual tool, though one need to get out of curve fitting biases somehow.

What do you use for trading? What do you like about it over NT?
 
I use my own custom code. It combines freedom from proprietary software with flexibility, though requires quite a bit of time and iterations to improve and mature.
