Larry Williams posted here too, but he didn't need to use a proxy server to mask his identity. Might I ask a few questions?:

1. How long did it take to run up a $220 K state tax debt and are you planning on paying it at all?

2. How do you feel about your brother who is actually a successful HF manager, you get all the fame, but he gets the profits for his investors?

3. If investors trusted you again, would you change anything in your strategy? (mind you, even according to you Victor would have blown up 2-3 times in the last few years using the same put writing strategy)

Just curious and as usual, with all due respect, Sir....

No, the tone is much different. Read some of VN's writings on his site, and compare.

A friend who used to be reasonably close to VN commented to me about this thread: "it's interesting how people on <i>both</i> sides of the debate manage to get the important points wrong."

My friend wasn't referencing any particular media piece, he was talking about the sweeping comments about VN's personal history put forward by various correspondents on this thread.

Re the Cassidy piece in particular -- by all accounts Mr Cassidy is an earnest good-hearted gentleman, and I doubt VN or anyone else would be eager to attack him legally under any circumstances.

You obviously cannot answer the question in simple manner. Seems like the answer is that no, you would not be an investor in Vic.

You can talk up mountains of philosophical discussion in an attempt to make Vic look like the greatest thing since sliced bread. And that is fine. I'm more curious as to whether you can put your money where your mouth is.

exactly. when it comes to your money don't be influenced by charm and the herd instinct. you have to do due diligence even if there are big names who have invested with the hedge fund manager or if the manager is the darling of financial journalists.

I assume you mean this thread so I moved my reply here. I do try to be logical most of the time (when I'm not agitating or trying to be funny). Heck I thought this was one of my more logical threads...

Of course I know only the bare surface details of what has been happening to VN. I'm not an investor with him nor in his circle. "Opinionated," certainly, but then this is a trading message board. Aren't we all opinionated here to a large degree?

Several of Vic's defenders have made statements like "we don't know what we are talking about..." and "we are just trying to drag Vic down", etc. So what, exactly, is wrong about what has been stated?

Did VN not suffer several blowups? Did he really make ALL of his investors whole? I'm sure quite a few did make lots of money, despite the blowouts. But what if you had invested late?

Is Vic not on the state tax delinquent website? If this is wrong, shouldn't he tell them to take it down right now?

Did VN not cheat on his wife and have a child with LK? Is this any of my business? Hell no! But it is in the public domain and when someone posts something like an unequivocal "Victor is a great and honorable man...," excuse me if I disagree. I have never cheated on my wife. Why would this be brought up? It's all about character...

If any of us have stated anything that is not true, please inform us. I know we would all be glad to have the truth posted. We are still asking the question: Is VN a good fund manager that you would be happy to have invest for you?
