Unless he didn't pay $2.9M for it (if the payment/story was fake) , then the $10 000 buyer is the fool, yet, he is a fool by default as well, since he just bought a windows paint pixel for 10k.

edit: looked into it. it's difficult to find the true first nft of the first tweet... in some respects it's not soooo different from buying original art. no wonder that soethby's has already setup a marketplace in decentral land. there is a need for nft auction houses.
