Growing up...
I was always told to bitch, complain, fix what's occurring in your own back yard sort'uv speak prior to trying to fix the world.
I see commercials on TV everyday about saving the whales, send money to charity in Africa, send money to kids in other countries and send money for other situations...
Things not occurring in my own back yard.
Professional athletes tend to do the same. Thus, if you're from Miami while playing on a sports team in Chicago...you're not going to care about what's occurring in Russia, China, North Korea, Brazil or Pluto.
Seriously, do you or them care about all the space garbage floating around earth from all those space exploration missions ? Fuck no...it's not occurring in our own back yard.
To be more honest, I don't care about what's happening in Hong Kong. Yet, I may care a little more if I was married to someone in Hong Kong, best friend is talking a lot about Hong Kong, my teenager girlfriend is from Hong Kong or if I had some other association to Hong Kong or any other country.
One of my favorite professional hockey players once said it best...
I don't give a fuck about what's occurring in some other country, I don't live there and never have lived there.
By the way, when was the last time you gave a helping hand to some other country that you don't live in and never have lived in ?
As for myself, maybe one day I will care about Putin in Russia poisoning his oppositions.
