In your experience, how does news trading differ across various currency pairs or even asset classes?

I day trade metal and energy futures and have found that news can move price . I don't trade what's in the news because its too late and price tends to move on its own, independent of what's in the news. The key for me is that there are more trades after the news, leading to better trends for day trading
I don't think anybody here can answer that question, because we don't have MRN trading setups like the pros do.
