Well I guess so. Do you mean that old Taoist saying:Quote from Cutten:Do you always construct straw man arguments?
This system of evident domain requires that everybody pay.I think roads should be paid for by the people who use them.
Are you talking about our former President?I think people who recklessly and needlessly risk the lives of others should be prevented from and punished for doing so.
I thought you had more to say, so I just it took the straw man to pull it out of you. If you are referring to âcar control,â then we are in agreement. But that is as far as it goes.I think minimum standards of driving safety are objectively measurable
What standards. We have no tests for car control. If the driver is competent at high speeds they could still be under age and unable to pass a written test. These standards are already almost universally applied for high speeds, dangerous driving, drunk driving, driving underage, driving without having passed a test etc.
A Copper hassled me for this doing 55mph in an area where I feel safe in rain and storm at 70mph. I guess people base their opinions on there own limitations without considering the limitations of other men-machine-training combinations.driving too fast for adverse weather conditions,
I took my skid control training in Canada. And I must say the conditions that we trained for are much different than what drivers in Hawaii may encounter. For one, none of the Hawaii drivers has ever, or will ever drive on snow. They have no clue at all about ice.failing to learn and practice basic driving skills such as skid control etc.
Sure skills can be quantitively measured, its what you do with the information is what we are talking about.Almost all driving skills are objectively measurable,- these are facts we are dealing with.
This is just how municipalities âcollect revenue," get real.Fines will deter some people.
I like the one used in some South American country, where if you get caught drunk driving they put you in jail. The second time they put your wife in jail. Those who aren't deterred by fines can be deterred in other ways.
How are you going to do that? Those who can't be deterred can be forcibly prevented from driving.
As they do now in most states. Those who kill or injure innocents by their own laziness, negligence, and recklessness should pay for their immoral actions.
Sure its all one way streets, cars collide moving at about the same rate, in the same direction. All the drivers talking at once with hands free phones.Formula 1, where cars routinely race in close proximity at speeds of 150-200mph, has a better safety record
Quote from QQQBALL:
Asian women are the worst drivers... the older they are the worse they drive.
