New York is Dead

Quote from B. Rowshan:

Huh? You are an idiot.

I lived my entire life on the upper east side, before recently relocating to a quieter environment. You haven't a clue! You have zero foresight. Just ask the condo owner who now cannot sell at any price. Just ask luxury goods sellers who are verging on bankruptcy. It's not what it looks like now, but in a few months and years. You cannot see the future, and as such, you suck as a trader too.

marketsurfer using all his foresight:

Make no mistake. The future calls for big trouble in nyc. It's approaching fast.

im not so sure about your words on the luxury market. vertu phones are selling like hotcakes at the plaza store and several new ultra high end watch boutiques have just opened on 57th and fifth area. People are still buying luxury.

you may be right about the future, i don't think so, but no one really knows...

Well if you believe a guy who makes a call like this one:

Actually raises money IN THIS ENVIRONMENT and does well, let me tell you about Goldilocks too. Surfer is the most pathetic joke this board has ever seen. Hey, nyc is doing great surf! That's why all the condo owners I know are sweating bullets and cannot sell.

obviously they paid too much and/or are not willing to lower their price if they "can't" sell.

That call stands untill 7777 on the downside, and I don;t think that will happen.

i'm partial to the hamburguesa @pamplona, beef / suckling pig / chorizo.

it's quite filling, don't plan on running around after. it's also a distinctive taste...

Okay, see that's the thing. No one really knows about the future, be it NYC or the market in general. I agree. Personally, I'm not enamored with the market's intermediate term prospects, but that is neither here nor there, because it does not affect me day to day. You, however, who just agreed that no one knows, are reportedly going all out on your market call, such that you are "finished" if you are wrong. At least theoretically, would you not agree that trade (or even investment) decisions should be tempered with that kind of uncertainty in mind, so as to live to trade another day?

That "filling" part is probably largely due to the fat content. That's the trade-off, eh? The fat content that adds the flavor is also the stuff that enhances your posture as it hardens your arteries.

Sorry, I can't get into details on a public board.

Suffice to say, one is up over 50% this year.

i am quite certain about 7777 being the bottom for at least 2 years. its not based on guessing about the NYC economy or anything else remotely precognizant.

I know it has nothing to do with NYC. I was just making a generalization about the uncertainty of the future. I was agreeing with you on your point that no one knows the future. However, you seem to be disagreeing with yourself if you are "quite certain" about that future and that you are willing to bet to the degree that you will be "finished" if you are wrong. Can you see where that logic falls somewhat short?
