New York City Officially Adds Two Muslim Holidays To School Calendar

New York City is now the largest school district in the country to recognize two Muslim holidays on its official calendar.

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Wednesday the addition of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr to the calendar, calling it a “change that respects the diversity of our city.”

“Hundreds of thousands of Muslim families will no longer have to choose between honoring the most sacred days on their calendar or attending school,” de Blasio said in a statement. “This is a common sense change, and one that recognizes our growing Muslim community and honors its contributions to our City.”

that's probably the best way to promote cultural harmony between diverse groups. Give them all a day off.

I could go for a gay marriage legalization day
If they would give me a marijuana legalization day

maybe you don't like to smoke pot, but at least you would get a day off for a picnic or barbeque with your family

so don't say, "Those no good pot smokers never did anything for me." If you work for the government they could get you a paid holiday.

They removed Easter from the calendar many years ago to support political correctness, and do not have a single Christian holiday on the Calendar. But they have Rosh Hashanah. Now they are adding two Muslim holidays. Absurd!
