Obama was actually very nihilistic - his biggest accomplishment during his presidency was to bring the Democratic Party much further left than it was prior. Likewise, Cuomo has been burnishing the leftmost side of his credentials. Hell, even HRC wasn’t considered progressive enough by the coastal elites.

Trump’s trade policies to date have been incredibly focused on the Rust Belt working class - IMO that’s smart.

Cuomo won’t be able to attract the kind of voters that the Democratic Party truly needs.

Now if the Democratic Party wanted to run a candidate more along the lines of Tulsi Gabbard then the calculus would really change.

But Kamala Harris or Cuomo aren’t going to be able to make any headway on electoral votes.

Dems were very stubborn in 2016 but have shown since in Alabama,Virgina Governors race,PA House race etc that they aren't anymore with huge turnout especially among minorities just to vote against Trump and republicans.Trump is toast in 2020 and nearly any democrat will do it and Coumo who is a much better cadidate than Hillary would wipe the floor with Trump.

I'm afraid that NPR says that Cuomo ain't no Centrist by a long shot. In fact, those wins in Pennsylvania and Alabama you like to brag about were won by essentially re-branded moderate Republicans. Hell, the Alabama Democratic winner is anti-abortion !!!!!!!

Whatever. Cuomo is an east coast New Yorker type. Just a regional guy. Trump is a new yorker too but his presence is much larger. Anyway. Go with Cuomo. Same with Kamela Harris. Virtually unknown outside California but the dem party sees her an up and comer. So go for it. Obama was an unknown too you can also argue. But like Couomo, Kamela Harris has the charisma of a Russet Potato. Both Trump and Obama were able to send tingles up legs outside their little regional turf.

You are going to wear yourself out with that endless popular vote regurgitation. Go find a candidate. Being anti-trump isnt much of a plan and certainly wont be if the economy is doing well under trump at the time of the election.

Also, as over overdiscussed, you assume that Trump will run for a second term. I don;t. Not saying he wont. Just saying I dont have that unwavering knowledge from the mothership on this as you do. I think we are looking at seven more years of Trumpdom but it might be in the form of Son of Trump, Pence.
