SSF's will never be a viable product because the powers that be (they) will find a way through either margins, tax treatment, etc to make them not so attractive so that Grasso and the NYSE never lose much business. Remember, after Goldman Sachs bought SLK, they are one of the largest Specialist units on the floor. And, they just sold off SLK/FOC futures. Are they going to let it happen? I think not.
