Assuming these are the correct cables, they cost $16.99.

No reason to skimp here.....shielding and nylon mesh coating will be prudent.

Question if we choose to get a 10,000 RPM SCSI hard drive will this change the cable choice?

2nd. Question; any idea about fans?
 
Positioning and speed of fans to create a positive or negative flow might be discussed here. The use of filters could also be discussed. If we are not carefull the net effect of a lot of fans and the vacuum created might be an issue.

Question: do we pull air into the case and exhaust it out the back?

Question 2: being that the power supply creates heat...is there an optimum way to blow air past it?

Cooling is important to maintain a constant room tempurature for componet life and function.

I have read that the P4 will throttle down in speed when its tempuature probe records high tempuratures.

I pushed in four dual 450's cards when it arrived and plugged it in. That's it, works like a charm.

Two or three years from now I will throw it away and buy another. While you on the other hand will be pi$$ing around upgrading and adding this and adding that and trying to get it all to work...i'm sipping pina coladas by the pool

BYO is a waste of time IMO. :cool:
