I just think ( for me) its safer to wait til the markets calm down and then you can get a much better sense of which stocks are weak and which are strong.
How many stocks gap up at the open and then fall apart by 9:45? Happens a lot.
Waiting works best for me and I think its a better strategy for new traders.

That was a hell of a day for price swings in the market I can tell you. It was back in the day when the MRN algos were monitoring his Twitter feed in 2019, so it WASN'T AFTER AN ELECTION. A very disturbing day in an otherwise benign rise in the markets overall that year.
