New member - ego, looking for mentor.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and to the world of daytrading for that matter. I have a lot of questions obviousely and I certainly realize I don't know squat. I am interested in finding a mentor in the Columbus, Ohio area if possible.

My trading history has been at a break even level. I have a Scottrade account (I'm not even sure that is one of the better ones or not, but at $7 a trade it seemed reasonable) but I have really been trading on instinct without an effective system of sorts. I am sure that can lead to DISASTER, especially in these trying times economically. It's easier for stocks to drop than go up, right?

If anyone has any suggestions for me please do not hesitate to reply. Thanks.
 
Hi Buckize,
Problem with a "Mentor", is that most mentors don't know "Squat" either.
And you wind up paying them $$$ before you figure out they don't know much of Squat.

Lot's of folks out there don't have 40 years of experience.
They have 1 year of experience repeated 40 times over.

Keep reading ET.....lots of good info here.
( Lots of bad info too.......just like Mentors ).
Take your time.....patience......don't risk much.......etc.
....patience patience ....

If you have not already,,, My advice is to begin at the beginning.
Get a grounding in the "Fundamentals of Classical Technical Analysis".
Read Edwards & Magee - "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends".
Then work out from there.

Ken Shaleen at Chatwatch.com offers a very good set of video tapes on Classical Tech Analysis,
he teaches pit traders at the Exchanges.... inexpensive and a good place to start.
