New indicator?

I am looking for a new (???) indicator showing divergence between upticks and downticks (just actual trades).

Is this really a new indicator or I simply don't know that there is one already available?

I want to check, if this indicator would give me quick indication that something is going on with quick movement of the stock. Am I right or not?

Nothing better than MACD to identify the movement of the trend, use it with some other indicator for strength and always check if the price provided has a good support. I recommend the Vortex indicator, it is great for option traders.

People have been into the idea of trade imbalance as a technical indicator for a long time. Different chart packages have their versions of uptick/downtick indicators. Sierracharts has several of them.

In my thinking, a minimum number of trades are required before an indication has enough factual basis to be "real" so your idea of "quick" and my idea might be different.
