I can't believe anyone uses these butt ugly charts. You can get better stuff off the internet with Yahoo etc. You just wasting resources that could be used to make the order entry part more reliable.

Please explain to me the benefits of "lite". (Just because it is there, you don't have to use it...).

Indeed, the desire has been heavily expressed mostly by misinformed posters, who believed that charts compete with order routing and market data. They do not compete; I hope I have successfully put that topic to rest a few posts ago.

Ok, But would it be utterly too difficult to completely separate the desired direct access socket from the (java based) TWS stand-alone? btw, without account info, FIX itself, will not suffice. Please excuse me if I misunderstand or am misinformed.

From my understanding it's not that the extra's compete, but rather the platform's general stability and actually, the preferred removal of the TWS from our desktops.

On your longer term charts for IdealPro forex. I would like to have something other than line charts. Also, for your Macd, I would like to be able to vary it from simple to exponential. There is my request.

Oh, i like the white charts better than the black. Can we adjust colors in the future? Also, I would like a second log in. Is that still in the works? Oh, and keep working on a position management feature for forex that separates it from the PNL. I know you guys are working on that---speed it up bro.

For the record, I use Ensign with IB and it is fine. But as long as Mr IBSoft is asking for suggestions-----I will be a good customer and cooperate. I don't think that having a bare bones platform and a bells and whistles platform will make people happy. I don't care what platform I use as long as it is stable. I don't use bells and whistles---with that said IB will just be wasting their time with it----some people will still complain. As long as they get this thing were their planning on going with it with as little a pain to me as possible. Any computer platform will always have to be upgraded.

Varying the macd from simple-to-exp: we have both of them separately, do you need to be able to flip between the 2?

Colors: yes, in the next beta.

Position management: It is a VERY big project. I don't believe we started yet.

Actually, you can do this in the current beta (849.7). (Now if I can only get those line charts to update with each tick.)

BTW: In beta version 849.7 the crosshair is no longer a "crosshair". It is only a vertcal line, rather than vertical and horizontal lines.

Well, you're the guy in charge, but the line charts are virtually useless without a trader knowing what price is doing, if one depends on charting with line charts. Unless, one is willing to sit there and hit refresh every couple of seconds all day long.:eek: I don't understand why it works with bar charts, but not with line charts. Seems like a very easy fix, but perhaps not.

We may be misunderstanding each other.

a) If what you are asking for is keeping the line chart up-to-date with the prices that arrive to the TWS (these are not tick-by-tick) because it does not work, we'll fix it if it is indeed broken. We have this for the bars.

b) If what you are asking for is real-time tick-by-tick feed into the line chart, we can't give you that. We don't have that for the bars either.

Is it a) or b)?

(BTW, if our software detects that you are pressing the refresh every 2 seconds, it will stop giving you backfills for the rest of the day).
