New HSI trading hours

From 7 March they'll change to: http://goo.gl/NS3Fk


That means an earlier opening, earlier lunch hour and earlier afternoon opening. So:

9:45 to 12:30 and 2:30 to 4:15
becomes
9:15 to 12:00 and 1:30 to 4:00


I guess the restaurants will have to adapt

It would at the moment. Hk doesnt have DST but you guys do so you'd need to adjust at that point.

Thanks for posting this. I had no idea they were going to change the hours.

Currently, the markets open at 10am, and the futures pre-market was from 9:45am to 10am. Is this correct?

Now the futures market will open at 9:15am and the stock market will open at 9:30am.

Great, this will mess up the timing of my trades, I guess I'll have to stop trading and see how the heck this market will behave.

correct and correct. The idea is to better line up the trading times with the mainland China share markets.

Thanks for posting this Kiwi.

I mostly like the schedule change, will fit my schedule better during the summer months, but I wish they would have dumped the lunch break altogether... seems like everyone either walks away or flattens before the lunch hour as the gap risk can be huge. Result is that most setups (mine at least) fail during last 45 minutes before lunch, and I find myself getting sucked into them more than I should.

The first session starts and finishes half and hour earlier
The second session starts an hour early and finishes same time.
