The exchanges are for-profit. I understand why they want to charge for market data. In my opinion, they should only charge for inactivity. If an account hits a volume mark each month, they should offer a credit for the data. Hell, they offer credits for clearing from volume.
Some futures you can replace by the index (which is free i think). Es can be replaced by S&P index. They move almost identical , at least for my trading. But do you have to pay for the data you receive from your broker, and that i don't use?
So we have to pay for data for trading and if we want the dome? ANd that's for each place so if you trade multkple things you will have to pay for multiple fees. That's going to make some people not want to study the markets as much.
you can always get historical data. just like attending school, you need to pay for textbooks. knowledge should be free but schools are charging outrageous fees.
I already pay for realtime data at my dataprovider. So I have to pay again to my broker for exactly the same data that I already have???? I don't need this data from my broker, just his ordering system.
