This is a documentary has a very limited audience ( traders and HLF distributers) and is most likely financed by Ackman thus it won't be a big hit and will be released on YouTube sooner than you think.

If you mean bootleg. But why would anyone want to do that? Does anyone care so much to even go there?

Honestly, it would be so much better if the expenses of producing this documentary were covered as part of said "billion dollar short" as a form of marketing material or short thesis presentation.

It's on youtube alright, but youtube wants $$ to watch it.

I think Loeb unloaded on the day during the ramp following icahn revealing a stake after the on-air fight with ack. So I think Loeb was there buying before icahn did. Icahn only started buying after the CNBC interview.

You may be right in terms of Loeb buying before Ichan. Loeb and Ackman had fallen out socially therefore like Ichan there may have been a revenge factor beyond a good trade.

HLF looks like a garbage company to me, but completely aside from that, I personally enjoy watching that douche Ackman feel as much pain as possible.

He may be a great investor/hedge fund guy when the stars are aligned - but when it comes to actual trading he seems more obsessed with being right than actually making money.

The movie was pretty good. I tried to keep a completely unbiased view. It does seem HLF is dead here in the States... not sure about the 3rd world though.

I am very interested to see this movie. I was actually an Herbalife distributor for 12 years. 1995-2007. Multi level marketing has always had these pyramid-scheme accusations. It is not an easy business. I had a great result using their products, which hooked me, then worked my tail off building a customer/distributor base. I reached a respectable level in the company, had a nice residual income, won some trips, it was actually a lot of fun. It was a sexy, rock 'n roll life style.(sound familiar?) Then I got bored and apathetic..my biggest enemy. If I had stayed, as I recently found out, I would have a passive income of over 10k a month. That's because several people in my "downline" have done VERY well. Sigh. Ah, well...such is life.

There are some similarities with day trading, only a small percentage truly make it, and there's a lot of risk, but it doesn't mean it's a scam. I hope Ackman eats his shorts. P.S. The percentage of people having success in Herbalife are probably much higher than this crazy game, but for now, my heart belongs to trading.

You're trying to justify the fact that you made money by ultimately ripping off someone else, not directly (since they made the own decisions to buy from you) but down the road (chain). So no wonder you don't get the freaking point: It is a scam and there are no similarities to trading whatsoever. No one says you can't make money by being with Herbalife. The point is that to make money, instead of selling a valuable product to the society you have to find enough people that will end up stuck with it. If there is anything you can compare it with it's the bubble of any kind.

I hope the karma gets back to you and you pay back with your trading losses (and then some) what you made selling that BS to others. Since as a society we don't need ponzi schemes I hope Ackman makes $hit load of money on his trade and opportunists like Icahn lose.
