New commission rates at Velocity Futures

Quote from BPtrader:

Dale,

Thanks for posting the commission rates, much better than IB's.

Before I switch to your firm, I have a few questions or concerns, hope you will address them, as I am sure some other traders share the same questions/concerns.

1. Is your trading platform as reliable and quick as IB's Trader Work Station?

To me, reliability and speed are the most important thing in trading, commission rate is secondary. I hate lagging platform, I hate freezing platform, I don't think those brokers with lagging or freezing platforms should be in business. I will never touch any firm with a lagging/freezing platform. Never.

2. Why are there so few comments on your firm in the "Brokers" secion on ET?

Usually it means fewer people are using Velocity Futures. I wonder why IB has so many comments. Obviously a lot of people are using IB, despite its higher commission rates.

TraderZones' comment certainly doesn't help your firm.

3. Do I have to pay for a trading platform?

Usually the fee for the platform is waived if a certain number of contracts are traded in a month. I wonder if your firm has this number.

BPtrader,
You’re most welcome for posting the rates.

1. I have no experience with IB so I honesty couldn’t say we’re faster or more reliable. They’re obviously a great firm, with a great platform. If you’d like to do any speed tests we most certainly could. In regards to reliability, we’re very reliable and constantly improve our technology.

2. I’ve often wondered the same. Being one of Futures Magazines Top 50 Brokers for 2008 we definitely have a customer base. I sincerely apologize for TraderZones bad experience. I’d like to investigate his claims but without knowing who he is I’m unable to do so.

3. Platform costs depend on your platform selection. Which one are you interested in?

Best regards,

When I went to commissions (such as under Crude, Fullsized), and clicked on the tabs BESIDES Xtrader Subscription, I kept getting "Error on Page" on an older IE browser...

TraderZones,

I just tried with IE 7 & 8 without an issue.

Which version are you running?

Best regards,

Dale,

Will the TRADEVEC rates be those shown as Fix Adapter rates? Also, any idea on monthly cost for the TradeVec platform through Velocity for those running automated.

Thanks in advance!
Dale....did you see this question.

Thanks in advance!

My apologies AMT4SWA...

We're still working with TradeVec to finalize everything. For now please use the Ninja Trader commission schedule.

Best regards,

Just this second I got off the phone with "Sales" at Velocity.
"Salesman" never ID'd himself. His tone was disinterested to say the least.
I was told comish for 1 or more trades a day would be $4.50 RT for the ES and NQ.
I'm only paying $3.60 RT all in right now, so why would I want to go with Velocity?

IanMacQuaide,

You spoke to me.

As you can see we have commissions lower than $4.50 per RT. Based on your mentioned volume I recommended you to use free X_TRADER.

What platform do you use now?

Do you pay a platform fee?
