the only grounds i can see is business interference which would be highly difficult to sustain in court under the listed circumstances.


who owns the turtle and/or trend following trademarks?


i would imagine those words would be exceedingly difficult to trademark and defend same.

There's disclaimers when you want to trade/invest in anything. When I was a stockbroker I gave people a 'mini' book full of disclaimers. Even if they just wanted to buy stock once. Or one mutual fund.

That's common whether it's futures, stocks, options, etc.

The reason those are necessary is that when people blow their 5 grand account out, the co's have some protection from frivolous lawsuits.
 
I've heard of people suing anyway when they lose money. A few of these cases even one. I definately would not want to be a broker.

Hence the reason for the disclaimers.
 
Alex has a ton of stories from when he was a broker. Some of them are quite sad. I wish I could get him to write a book with these things.
