New AMD FirePro Graphics Card keeps crashing

Nvidia have a 2d NVS range of multi monitor cards 2,4 and 8 ports. Everyone on this forum used to use those as they were fanless. Later models have a fan.

Tried that newest version & it gave problem with SnagIt app which I use extensively so went back to old Dec 2015 driver version.

Is there an alternative to snagit that will work with the latest driver?

From his original thread:
"After trying out various suggestions from all of you, it turned out that one port of the surge protector ( with 8 ports, call it say SP-1 ) had grounding problem. I had plugged another surge protector ( Call it SP-2 ) into that port of SP-1 & had plugged 7 monitors & CPU into SP-2 which caused grounding problem in 7 monitors & Main chassis.

I changed the port & it solved the problem. Still I called the electrician to check all wiring. He put in extra grounding in main supply & problem is gone. But I can't understand how grounding problem could give such a strong electric shock."

I live @ three locations during the course of the year. I require 4 19" monitors plus the laptop screen. Locations all have 4 monitors, I just carry a laptop and use Plugable hardware. Watch the video.

Pluggable has some limitations. Max Resolution is limited to 1080p.

My monitors are 24 inch & cards give 1920x1200 which is better for me.

I don't think their setup & hardware can run 12, 24 inch monitors.

Don't know but have been using SnagIt for over 15 years.

It works well with 12 monitors. I can choose any combination of monitors to get a screenshot & I take lots of screenshots for various purposes.

I don’t necessarily think it’s an operator issue. The cards should be as easy as plug n go. If you were on Win10 the drivers would (or in theory) update on their own.

At some point you’ll need to recognize it’s time to get a new computer. If you want to build one and need some pointers than feel free to message me directly. I spent 25 years as a network engineer then became a software developer 6 years ago. I can send you links on Amazon or Fry’s Electronics to price it out. Not looking to sell you anything. Just advice.

Really appreciate the offer.

I was going to get the new system when warranty n this m/c expired in April this year. But I was encouraged by some on this forum that these workstations ( Dell T-7500 ) could last as much as 10 years & mine was only 5 years old.

But unfortunately all of my problems started 2 months after expiry.

First power supply, then short circuit then video cards etc. etc.

Being novice with hardware, I decided to go with Dell workstation because It had 3 slots ( 2 X16 & one X16 wired as 8 ) which were good enough to drive these FirePro 2460 low profile fanless cards.

Dells support was pretty good next day service & gave me peace of mind. They always come with replacement parts & don't fool with anything else.

I am trying to put together a new system to run 12, 24 inch monitors with a resolution of 1920x1200.

I will contact you for help.

Thank You for the offer.

I have four systems at home and they are all made of AMD Parts. I never had any problems with them. The AMD fire pro is a topnotch card. Its price performance beats the competition, over hyped and overpriced cards, without much effort.
Furthermore, a quick review of the poster history will tell you that the poster has continues problems with his system. At one time, he posted that he had problem with his system configuration. A second time, he posted that he gets an electrical shock when he touches his computer tower :D. Now, he is having problem with his Video cards!

I think, what we have here is an operator error and has nothing to do with the quality of the AMD fir pro cards.

I agree that I have been having hardware problems & they all started after my warranty expired & system worked flawlessly for 5 years. But I don't think I created any of the problems I described.

Configuration : One of my cards with GDDR3 failed & replacement cards were all GDD5 so I asked if there would be conflict.

Shock : Suddenly out of nowhere one socket of the surge protector had grounding problem.

Video Card : Bought a brand new but keeps crashing.

Please suggest how could I have prevented any of the above.
