1st generation (>40) can only reasonably be expected to assimilate as far as learning to eat sh*t at McDonald's.

2nd generation and those who came in as kids should not have trouble learning american way of life.

but it also depends if the environment encourages the immigrants to assimilate. of course nobody wants to spend the money on the immigrants. after all they are just cheap labor. why make it more expensive?

The environment is called freedom and in the past nobody had to pay nor encourage people to want to be americans. Pay low skill people to become Americans?- well I don't want those kind of immigrants.

We already have data on the second and third generation mexicans, they are not performing. They are not performing in school and they are not creating new business and wealth commensurate with their population- they are mostly stuck in the lower socio economic layers. So instead of creating new wealth and assimilating to save us, they are costing us. They seem to be following the trajectory of the blacks, so get ready for endless cries of racism and constant underperformance. As if that isn't bad enough, the multicultural left is now spending taxpayer money to teach them to hate white america and not assimilate into what has been the mainstream.

Why should we be surprised that 50 million Mexicans will behave any differently a couple hundred miles to the north, especially when they are encouraged to keep their culture and predjudices?
