Net Worth Is Less Than The Size Of Deposit

You can update your net worth, better do it properly because if the issues start, it's hard to fix the situation.

This, i recently updated net worth and source of funds distribution.
Had to answer a few questions afterwards (eg. What year did you make the stated trading profits with which instruments). Answered those (and offered to send more documents if needed) and it's all fine. No big deal.

You can and should update your net worth under the portal. The AML/Compliance team may seek additional info on SOW which I assume is not hard to explain (ie. work, trading, etc). This is standard AML/KYC and shouldn't be a big issue and will not lead to a locking of an account unless you are unable to explain if requested.

Thank you & thanks to everyone else.

More fun at tax time and less buying power. I'm not worried about IB. They'll be one of the last brokers to fail.

I don't worry only about failure but also about things like trading restrictions.
Their handling of the Gamestop debacle seem less than optimal from a retail customer viewpoint.
Also the constant notices about capping prices and such when entering trades is concerning.

You may think IBKR could never fail but their CEO said "We have come dangerously close to the collapse of the entire system"

Then again, I don't use margin, so my buying power unaffected by using multiple providers.

This question keeps bothering me for a while.
When i opened an account with IB, it asked for my net worth.
I am planing to make a deposit, which is larger, than the number that i choose previously as my net worth.

I could provide a legal proof for the source of such deposit.
Don't want to end up with my account frozen for few months or smthn.

Anything that i should be aware of ?
Thanks up front.

SOUNDS like a big math mistake, but a new inheritance ...... could explain it.
THAT also differs\ some want a liquid net....
I'm being bothered myself about a strange SEC credit[small #] for JULY but not super worried.
I was also bothered when my broker SCHW locked me out recently HUH?? No problem, security precaution/+ i wondered if they thought i was crook when i called them on a new cell phone , so asked SCHW ''is that a big problem i dont want to give you my cell phone ## ?'' NO, OK, they said/LOL
:D:D

If your worried about brokers failing you got bigger problems . How long would it take for SIPC insurance to be enacted and get money back. Months, years ?

As long as the deposit is legit and goes through cleanly I doubt if they care much about your net worth.

why are futures shops asking to see my LLC financial bank statements. is there a minimum required to be in the bank statements to open a futures account as an LLC?
